First Club Meeting

We had a small turn out today for the first of the Makers' Club meetings.  Two young men took up the challenge of creating Lego-bots on our R/C cars.  As you can see the designs were very creative, if not super strong.   The red car went two for two in very close bouts.

I was proud of the designs and the sportsmanship both of our competitors showed.  I can't wait until next week to see what idea they will have.

In our competition, there are three ways to win.  Knock off all the Legos from your opponent's car, remove his/her Mini-figure driver or flip the opponent's car over. Both of our builders decided on heavy armor for their drivers and the red car added outriggers to prevent his car from flipping.  Both of our competitors decided on flippers as their primary attack.

In the future we will be taking the lessons learned in these early competitions and applying them to the  robots we will be building from scratch.  Our future tankbots will benefit from these experiments, as we will be developing them from off the shelf remote control cars and specially purchased parts.
